Voicework with Hannah is fun and uplifting. As we all have a speaking
voice she believes we all have a singing voice. The mind, body and voice
connection is the key principle to the unfolding of the full potential
of your voice. It isn't about having a “good” voice or “getting it right”,
rather expressing a range of emotions through song and sound. Singing
releases endorphins - and this is associated with benefiting our well
being and stimulating the immune system. Simply, it does you good.
A typical session starts with breathing exercises to clear the mind, aid
concentration and deepen breathing. Some gentle physical warm-up exercises
follow to loosen up the body and voice. Graduated exercises such as call
and response songs move you from speech to melody and so opening the voice.
Further work can include vocal toning, improvisation exercises, group
call and response and popular group-led “sing-alongs”.
